About the Artist:
Asher Ein Dor (1943–2021), born Asher Dickstein, was a pioneering Israeli painter and a founding father of Israeli comics. Growing up in Neve Tzedek, he became a 1960s cultural icon, editing the "Buki" comics and illustrating legendary covers for "Patrick Kim," "Hasamba," and "Tarzan." His diverse career included graphic work for the "Lahiton" weekly and illustrating for Pinchas Sadeh. In later years, he moved to Safed and embraced a spiritual life as a Chabad follower. His fine art oil paintings are a rare bridge between his secular graphic legacy and his profound inner journey.
