Mordechai Arieli (1909–1993) was a prominent Israeli painter and a key member of the influential  "New Horizons" (Ofakim Hadashim) movement. Born in Poland and trained at the Bezalel Academy, his work evolved from figurative realism into a vibrant lyrical abstraction. He is celebrated for his bold use of color and his ability to capture the unique Israeli light and landscape through modern, expressive forms.
