About the Artist:
Moshe Kagan (1922–2016) was a prominent twentieth-century Israeli painter and a central figure in the historic Artists' Colony of Safed. Born in Europe, he immigrated to Israel and dedicated his artistic career to documenting the unique spiritual light, ancient alleyways, and dramatic regional landscapes of Safed and the Galilee. His highly collectible mid-century watercolors and oil paintings are celebrated for their vibrant lyricism and are held in numerous private collections and museums throughout Israel and internationally.
