This translates to: As long as there is a need for this cry. As long as we endure this cry of the slaughtered. Without being able to claim that it is an imposture. The text addresses the role of the artist and creation in witnessing human suffering, echoing Bilan's background as a child of Holocaust survivors. About the Artist
Richard Bilan: Born in Kraków, Poland, in 1946 to Holocaust survivors, moving later to Israel and France.
Education: Studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem before earning his Master's degree at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Artistic Narrative: A storyteller whose works showcase a complex fabric of poetic motifs, figures, and theatrical scenes often influenced by memories of street life and traveling circus performers.
