About the Poster:
This striking original Israeli exhibition poster was designed by the notable graphic design studio Rehak-Schory for a joint cultural program hosted by the Tel Aviv Museum, Tel Aviv University, and the Goethe-Institut. The powerful visual composition centers on a bold, modernist red bulldog with a broken white chain against a deep black background—an iconic image originally created by the famous German artist Thomas Theodor Heine in 1896 for the avant-garde satirical journal Simplicissimus. Utilizing this legendary German Expressionist imagery, the poster perfectly captures the cultural climate of the Weimar era. The lower border displays clean, tri-lingual typography in German, Hebrew, and English detailing the institutional partners.
