About the Artist:
Aliza Bak (1884–1974) was a notable Israeli painter and printmaker, born in Hamburg, Germany. Active in the early to mid-20th century Israeli art scene, she was highly dedicated to her craft and continued painting actively well into her late 80s. Her work was showcased in prominent institutions, including a landmark solo exhibition of oils and watercolors at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in 1957. Known for her sensitive floral arrangements, landscapes, and rigorous figurative drawings, Bak combined European modernist structure with local expressive forms. Her rare graphic prints and etchings are highly valued by collectors of vintage Israeli modernism.
