About the Artist:
Bernard Reder (1897–1963) was an internationally acclaimed Jewish modernist sculptor, etcher, and printmaker. Born in Czernowitz, he studied fine arts in Prague before moving to Paris, where he closely associated with iconic artists like Aristide Maillol. Fleeing World War II, he eventually settled in New York. Reder's celebrated works, often heavily inspired by Jewish folklore, antiquity, and the human form, are highly collectible and permanently held in major institutions worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Israel Museum.
