About the Artist:
Joel Kass (b. 1937) is a prominent Polish-born Israeli contemporary artist celebrated for his intense and profoundly symbolic contributions to figurative expressionism. Born in Warsaw on the eve of World War II, Kass escaped the Warsaw Ghetto with his mother at the age of five. After surviving years in refugee camps, they returned briefly to a shattered Poland before immigrating to Israel. These early, traumatic memories heavily informed his creative path, which evolved from classical art studies into a highly recognized international career spanning Europe, Israel, and the United States. Today, his evocative paintings and sculptures are celebrated for their raw psychological depth and are housed in distinguished international galleries and private collections.
