Lithograph, early 19th centuryA humorous Napoleonic-era lithograph depicting a soldier trying on boots at a shoemaker’s shop. Printed by Charles Motte (1785–1836), one of the earliest and most important French lithographers.
This print captures the satirical spirit of the time, combining everyday military life with caricature. Examples of this work are preserved in the Musée Carnavalet, Paris (inv. G.35336).
