About the Artist:
Yosef Kuzkovski (1902–1970) was a prominent Jewish-Russian master painter and graphic artist. Formally trained at the prestigious Painting Academy in Kiev, his prolific career in the Soviet Union was marked by numerous solo exhibitions. Throughout his life, Kuzkovski remained deeply committed to themes of Jewish identity, resilience, and the tragedy of the Holocaust. Following a prolonged struggle with Soviet authorities, he finally immigrated to Israel in 1969, tragically passing away just four months later. Today, his most famous masterpiece, The Last Road - Babi Yar, hangs prominently in the Israeli Knesset, and his historical works remain highly sought after by prominent public archives and fine art collectors.
